The pharmaceutical business is among the three major growth pillars of Samyang, together with its chemical and food divisions. Samyang Biopharmaceuticals pledges to develop its pharmaceutical and biotechnology businesses to become a world-class pharmaceutical company.

Samyang entered the pharmaceutical business in 1995 and has since focused on the development of drug delivery system technologies. Such efforts enabled the successful international launching of anticancer drugs that can be administered through the skin and control them, and that adopt polymer control technology. Our biodegradable surgical suture, the third in the world to be commercialized, posts No. 1 share in the open market, becoming a leader in the world markets including Europe and the U.S.
