| What is fast absorbable Trisorb? |
Trisorb Rapid is a synthetic absorbable surgical braided and coated suture composed of polyglycolic acid (PGA)
homopolymer. The characteristics of rapid loss of strength are achieved by use of gamma
irradiation technique to regular polyglycolic acid used for Trisorb.
Trisorb-rapid is only available in the undyed form.
Trisorb-rapid meets all the requirements established by the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP)
and the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) for Synthetic Absorbable Surgical Sutures.

| Application |
Trisorb Rapid typically looses its breaking strength 9 ~ 11 days after application and its entire strength is
lost in 17 ~ 21 days after use. Trisorb Rapid maintain 50% its original breaking strength 9 days post
implantation.
Due to the rapid loss of its breaking strength Trisorb Rapid should not be used where extended
approximation of tissue under stress like cardiovascular tissue or muscle is required or where
wound support beyond 7 days is required.
Trisorb Rapid suture suitable for superficial skin closure, scalp plastic surgery, episiotomy wound healing or oral mucosa. |
